OK, so it was pretty bad. But if you’re a fan of Jonah Hill or enjoyed films like Superbad and Get Him To The Greek then you wont hate The Sitter.
Jonah Hill plays Noah, an intelligent kid who puts his d*ck first, which obviously gets his in to trouble. Throw a couple of unruly but adorable children into the mix –who is forced to baby-sit by his mother- and a girlfriend who wont ‘put-out’ unless he buys drugs from an insane drug dealer and we’ve got ourselves a film! Albeit a really dull and unexciting film.
The only good things about it were Sam Rockwell’s nut job drug dealer and Landry Bender (Blithe) -a scarily mature little girl who wants to hit up the clubs and get famous- providing 90% of the comedy. Though it felt wrong listening to a child sing along to rap music about getting f**ked up. Though it’s not to my personal taste, if you’re a fan of hip-hop and rap music then it’s got a pretty decent soundtrack too.
The Sitters feeble storyline didn’t really end anywhere. Nothing gets resolved or wrapped up; only Noah got the pretty girl at the end. Shocker! I didn’t see that one coming. And don’t act like I just ruined the ending for you. A monkey could predict that.
I’m not going to say don’t watch it but if this is the only review your going to read (doubtful) then you probably wont. It was a way to pass two hours and if you’ve seen everything else that’s out then give it a go. You may even laugh once. But you will forget about it once the credits roll.
